Born and raised in the Netherlands, I've been a permanent resident of Seattle since 1994. I'm a bilingual author, writer and reporter, with equal command of Dutch and English. My articles, essays, profiles, previews, reviews, are published in the Netherlands and in the United States. My background in the arts, business, and fashion world makes me a wordsmith ready to tackle any creative writing assignment. As a former theater maker, I understand the dynamics of dialogue, and the interaction between speaker and listener (or reader). Finding the unique voice for each of my clients is my pleasure and strength. I write with conviction about a varied range of subjects, from art & architecture to dining and gardening, from good grief to fashion design and real estate. Creative Acts of Healing: After a Baby DiesCreative Acts of Healing: After a Baby Dies is a first person longitudinal account of loss, mourning, grief, healing and recovery. The book offers the reader a source to recognize the slow process of grief and to discover that healing can't be rushed, but may be aided. Creative Acts of Healing provides inspiration to celebrate anniversaries of the baby's birth, Mother's Day and holidays following the loss. This narrative attests to the power of creativity and nature as a healing force, to consultation of ancient oracles as a mode of meditation to find inner peace and to communication as an important element of the recovery process. more... |
